Music Monday!!

alt="Alternative Name"/>

Today is Music Monday at my friend Tara's.You must go visit her atKeepingupwiththKellys! and play along with us!
I chose the song 'Overcome' today! It is a very powerful song that we sang for the first time with The Praise and Worship Team at our church(I have never sung with any group, choir or anyone ever before in my life)Just had to let you know because it is still so surreal to me.
Okay, back to the song! While we were singing I had a vision of my son in his jail blues sitting on his bunk.He hasn't felt the sun on his face in over a year!He doesn't get to go outside!I started to cry.I know that we will Overcome this trial with God's help and that he will become the man that god is intending him to be! I then looked out at the sea of people in the congregation and thought about how everyone there is probably going throught some kind of painful situation or knows someone who is. I then realized that none of us are immune to this in our lives, but that with God we can OverCome and make it out on the other side!
It doesn't mean it won't be painful and we will be unscathed just that with his help and his strength we will make it and find joy again in our lives.
I hope this song reaches into your heart and lets you know or reminds you how much God(the one that created us all) loves you!!That no matter what your going through call on him and he will be with you thorugh all of it!Love you all!!

For my Running Peeps~~

I enjoyed the music clip. I will never be a runner due to my granny knees. (And laziness.)

I've never heard that one either. The story behind it and thinking of your son just touched my heart. I am sure that song touched every person in earshot because we are all going through some thing. Thank you for joining in but thank you for being a good blog friend and for what you stand for in life.

I know GOD brought me here for a reason. I use to run (when I was young). I need to get back to a better physical fitness. I may never be able to run very far....but I need to be walking and doing lots of it. Thank you for the beautiful song and the encouragement through your own actions.

Blessings, andrea

LOVE this song! Our youth group band rocks this all the time, brings me to tears everytime!

I think my oldest son is having the sheet music tattooed around his upper arm for this particular song too.

thanks for sharing :)

Hey there Olga (again! I didn't have an email to reply to your comment over at my place)

Like I was saying.....our youth band at church plays it all time time, that is so cool that the band has visited your church. How awesome is that!?

Thanks for popping in my world and entering my giveaway too.....it's so fun to send out goodies in the mail!

thanks for the follow on my blog, following you back!

Your runner thought is so true, a friend and I just had a conversation of what a runner is supposed to look like, vs what they truly are.

I look forward to reading more!

Beautiful song. My son got a DUI at the age of 19, struggled with alcohol & prescription drugs. I knew I couldn't change him, but God could. So I prayed & prayed. He is now doing much better, going to school full time, working part time and off of the prescription drugs (still drinks sometimes, unfortunately) but he has come a long way.

I know how hard it is to see our children struggle, but just knowing that the Lord can work miracles will hopefully bring you some comfort.

I'll be praying for you both!

I do not know the story behind your son but I will offer prayers for him and for you. God bless. Beautiful song.

Whoohoo! Here's my number eleven! Thanks so much Olga! :D

Wow, your running is a real inspiration - I exercise a lot, too, no running, though - bad knee.

I am sorry to read about your hardships, hope things will look brighter soon.

Thanks again, Olga!
