Aloha FridaY/FridaY FolloW!

In Hawaii,Aloha Friday is the day they take it easy, and look forward to the weekend.
So I thought that on Fridays I would and take it easy on the posting,as they do in Hawaii! Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
Oh, and don't forget to click on the link anywhere that's highlighted and play along with Kailani and the rest of us! You will make some new bloggy friends too!!

My question for today is:
Have you ever had a Migraine headache?! and what did you take to get it to go away?
I have been battling one for over 2 months and to say it has been unbearable is not even close!
I finally got to a Dr, who is treating me with migraine meds,so I am hopful and praying that they will break this headache cycle!!!

I am also playing Friday follow with Java, for the first time!So if your over 40 hop on in and meet some new bloggy peeps!!!Even if your not it's cool jump on in and hit her button!!!

Sorry Girl I don't know how to help you there. I have never had a migraine only tension headaches. My only suggestion is acupuncture and Chinese medicine. I can give you the name of Liam's Dr. She is near you. Semoran almost at the airport.
Hope you get relief soon! I know how bad those can be.

yes, I've had a migraine headache and the dr. perscribed imitrex which makes me feel weird, like this tingly hot feeling deep in my system, but it will get rid of the headache for me anyway. i prefer the nose spray (same name) over the pill form. I hope you find relief soon.

Good morning Olga and Happy Friday Follow 40 and Over. Thank you so much for stopping by. I am following you know. Your blog is really neat. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
I too get mirgraines and Imitrex seems to help some. I also have what they call cluster headaches and as much as they have tried to help them so far nothing has worked. There is a nerve that shorts out (it's not connected for some reason) behind my left eye that causes them but no way to fix it. I try and stay out of super bright light (lots of sunglasses), caffine seems to help but I'm not a tea or coffee drinking so have had to find it else where's and no chocolate can't be my only fix, wish it could.
It's difficult at times especially with a daycare here at my home but we manage.
Good luck with yours, I do hope they fine what is causing yours and can get it under control.
Thanks again for stopping by. Have a blessed, relaxing day today (with twins, good luck!!).

I get migraines now and then that absolutely knock me out. When I get them, I take excedrin migraine and drink coffee or coca-cola while alternating that with water to stay hydrated. When they're really bad, I have to sleep it off with an ice pack on my head and by the end of the day I feel fine.
I refuse to take stronger meds since my migraines don't happen all that often for me.I also know someone who suffered a stroke from the meds her doctor gave her.
I hope you feel better!

Mine usually go away on their own after about 24 hours. I don't get them very often, thankfully. I hope you can get some relief soon!

I have only had one once...thank goodness. I threw up and had to lay still in a dark room. I sure home you can find something that helps.

Not me, but my daughter. Once they happen there is nothing to do but stay in a dark, quiet room until the drugs kick in.

I did notice that once she started cheerleading and had to exercise on a daily basis, they were few and far between.

I didn't start getting them until I got pregnant. I wasn't able to take anything for them while I was pregnant but once I was I took excedrin which helped the most. Otherwise drinking something that had caffeine in it would also help.

Hello from a fellow migraine sufferer. I used to have them years ago and gave up caffeine to help them. After my second son was born, my hormones went wonky and they are back. My doctor suggested some medications, but they were too strong for me years ago (hubby was not sure if I was dead or alive with one). This time around I am using OTC migraine meds and trying some coffee. It seems to be helping some. Today was a rough day with one that would not quit. Hope you feel better soon.

I've not had one. My SIL has them and they are almost debilitating!

I am glad you found a doctor and I do hope you get the help needed.

There are so many home rememdies and theories you just have to find out what is right for you. I've even heard that some foods give you migraines, and believe it or not chocolate is a big factor. My doctor gave me caffergot (not sure of the spelling), but it worked for me. The only thing that use to help me is don't where your hair up, lay down in a dark room and sleep! Good luck my friend.

Thanks for the follow! :) I am Following you know too!

My answer to your question is yes, I have dealt with migraines....most recently I had one that made me not be able to eat, I threw up everything.

I can typically make them go away in a day with some excedrain migraine....

Gosh, I'm so sorry to hear that you've been having a migraine for that long! I get them very rarely, and I just put ice on my forehead and wait it out. Sleep usually helps. I've heard that Exedrin migraine helps. (It's nice to meet you from SITS.)
